Dear Birthparent…
Thank you so much for considering us as potential adoptive parents to your child. We can’t imagine how difficult this choice must be for you, but are so proud of you for choosing the brave and selfless path of adoption. We are excited for the opportunity to add a healthy, African-American or biracial boy (less than 12 months of age) to our family where we will provide a loving, stable home for him to grow. We promise to love and cherish every minute with this child and to update you with photos and stories of their life, if you wish.
About Us…
We started our relationship as coworkers but knew we would be so much more because of our similar personalities, values and shared goals. We started dating in 2009, got engaged in 2010, and were later married in 2011. In 2017, we welcomed Ameka into our family through adoption. Ameka, now 4, is a charming, outgoing, helpful and kind little girl, who likes imaginative play, coloring and playing at the park. She is strong-willed and determined like Raniece and genuine and welcoming like Gary. We are determined be good role models to her and our future child, giving them the foundation to succeed in life through our love and commitment.
Our Home and Pets…
We live in a four-bedroom, three- bathroom pool home in a gated community with residents of all ages. We love our neighborhood because there are always friendly neighbors out and about, riding bikes, walking dogs, and playing with their children. We have very close friends who live nearby who also have young children and live near many family-friendly attractions. We love our community and feel it is an ideal place to raise children.
Our Family…
Raniece, having been around children her entire life, has a natural gift with kids. She is the favorite aunt to all of our family and friends’ children. She has two older brothers, an adopted sister, two nieces, and four nephews. Gary is part of a large family with two younger sisters, one nephew, and countless cousins—all residing in Florida. Our family has welcomed Ameka with open arms and is awaiting the arrival of our new addition with open arms.
Our Journey to Adoption…
We both come from large families and we always knew we wanted to be parents. Unfortunately, we experienced infertility, which led to many fertility treatments and miscarriages. The adoption of our daughter in 2017 was such a fulfilling and rewarding experience that has brought so much joy into our lives. Family is about more than biology to us—it is about love and commitment. After careful thought and consideration, we know that we are ready to make that commitment to another child and expand our family through adoption once again. We are emotionally and financially prepared to move forward with adoption and are committed to provide a nurturing, loving home with the same advantages as we would to a biological child.
