Shannon & Todd
Status: Still Looking

Dear Birthparent…

We are Shannon and Todd, and we would like to thank you so much for considering us for this very important decision.  We imagine that you are facing a difficult decision and we have so much respect for you and admire how brave you are and your selfless act in choosing to have your baby.

If you choose us, our goal for your child will be love, laughter and security.  We will provide them with the best possible education and will support them as they pursue their life’s ambitions.  They will be surrounded by family and friends who will also provide love, guidance, support and respect all throughout their life. They will be encouraged not to be afraid to follow their dreams and be the person they want to be.  Thank you again for considering us as parents for your baby.

About Us…

We met before a football game between USC and Boston College in Boston, where Shannon used to live.  Todd, a huge USC fan, had booked a weekend trip to Boston to watch his favorite team. Before the game, he was watching some other games at a restaurant and Shannon heard another southern accent cheering against her team.  We struck up a conversation and Todd offered a ticket to the game to Shannon.  We were engaged 7 months later and moved to Florida a few months after and married after that. We adopted our daughter, Abigail, two years ago and she is the most amazing little girl and we love her so much.  We want to expand our family so Abby can have a sister or brother.  We love to travel with Abby, go to Disney, visit zoos and aquariums and have dance parties in our kitchen!   We love sports and the arts as well.  We love going to games and cheering our favorite team.  Shannon grew up with theater and dancing, while Todd played the bass guitar and played sports.  We both grew up in the South and have become very successful in our careers but family always comes first.  We have a strong, loving relationship and our strength is always talking about our goals and anything on our minds.  This openness and good communication has made our relationship strong.

Our Home and Pets…

We love living in the Sunshine State of Florida.  We live in a new home that is four bedrooms in a great neighborhood with lots of young families with great schools.  There are many young children on our street and they love to come over to our home and play with Abby and our dogs, Biscuit and Gravy.  Biscuit is a miniature Golden Doodle and Gravy is a miniature dachshund.  They are an important part of our family and we love them so much.  Abby and Biscuit and Gravy are best buddies.  Our neighborhood has swimming pools, parks, biking trails, soccer fields, beach volleyball courts and dog parks.  Every evening, we go for a walk in the neighborhood and take Abby to the playground. Our neighborhood plans monthly family events, including carnivals, outdoor movie nights and swim parties. Our neighborhood is very diverse and we have neighbors from all over the world including India, Jordan, Dubai and South America.

Our Family…

Family is extremely important to us.  Shannon’s parents live very close by, and her brother and his wife have two little girls.  They live around the corner from us, so if you choose us, your child will live so close to their cousins that they can become best friends.  Everyone sees each other often.  We love to have monthly game nights and enjoy celebrating holidays and birthdays together. We are very close to Todd’s family as well and visit them often.  Todd’s aunt has fostered 5 children over the years who have become our cousins.  We spend time with them on many holidays. Family is very important to us.

Our Journey to Adoption…

We have been married for six years but weren’t able to have a biological child.  We tried fertility options that were unsuccessful and Shannon suffered three miscarriages.  Adoption was always something we talked about so knew that that was our path on finding our forever family.  Adopting Abby has been the most amazing thing that we have ever done and we know Abby would be a wonderful big sister.  If you choose us to raise your child, you will never know the level of gratitude we will feel.  Please know that we will always let your child know they were adopted and loved and will understand what an amazing person you are.
